An Opinion Composition

In defence of people with knowledge.

In many countries of the world, people learn basic first aid techniques because they want. This mean a part of the citizen of any country study first aids. Obviously, not everybody learn it.

I've heard it said that people who learn how to practice this techniques are very helpful in an case of an emergency. For example, a person who is quite by chance in an accident and know how to treat a wounded person could save his or her life.

Personally, I think It would be better for all citizens to know about this useful procedures. The Government ought to apply a new law in order to people to study in educational centers basic first aid techniques as one of the main subjects if that is possible.

In conclusion, I would like to say that I think learning this kind of techniques are a good thing. I understand that the Government system has some stuffs more important to do for the country. However, in my opinion, this is a small price to pay for obtaining the ease of saving a life in our hands.

A Polite Email

Dear Asha,

I hope you be fine. I got home safely, thanks. I'm glad you have liked the chocolates. I passed a good time there although I had not had time to explore the campus and town much. I forgot it,  as the room was a little untidy I decided to clean it and I found a necklace and left it in the closet.
Firstly I'm afraid I do not know nothing about your computer. I did not touched it because I had my own laptop. I did not need to use yours, but I hope you could fix it the sooner for your homework.
And about the key, when I was there I took it and I forgot to put it back and brought it with me in my jeans pocket. I'm really very sorry about that but don't worry I'll post it back.
I hope you have cleared your doubts and I also would like to meet you again this next year.

Best wishes, Antonia.

Letter of Complain

Dear Editor

I'm writing to express my concern about an advert which appeared on page 35 of your magazine last week. I found it to be misleading and sexist.

The advert, which is for a beater, claims to buy a excellent new product. However, it contains a photograph of a young couple where we can find a man with a formal suit and a woman with a chef's hat. It suggest man gives the beater to his wife. This is misleading because try to express women have to be at home.

Furthermore, the advert uses a too high level of sexism. It contains a written which says women are for cooking and be at home. Nowadays women are not just for being at home, we can do a lot of things and I think we have shown we can do the same or more than a man.
10 Most Sexist Print Ads from the 1950s

I am a regular reader of your magazine and I have always found it to be interesting and informative especially for active women.

Unfortunately, this high standard is greatly reduced by the inclusion of sexist adverts such as this one.
Therefore,I urge you to remove it from your next issue and check all future adverts more carefully.

Your faithfully

Book Review

The Horla

I read a book recently called The Horla. It's a thriller by Guy de Maupassant, and it's really interesting - I couldn't put the book down! It's also very mysterious and made me think about how impressive can be our own mind.
Most of the action take place in a coastal town from France. The main protagonist Guy de Maupasant, who is also the writer, is an upper class man who looks for a house to get relax from the hustle and bustle of his life.
While Guy de Maupasant spends more time in the house, begins to realize that in the house there is something strange, a sort of spectrum who "plays" with his mind. The protagonist takes action against the Horla how he names it, but nothing seems to work. He gets so obsessed with this "ghost" that he decides to burn his own house.

I really recommend this book because it deals with suspense and at the same time it is very intriguing. You get totally involved with the characters, especially because you can feel The Horla "attacks" your mind too, and one of the most interesting parts is the end of the story because is completely unexpected. There's no a movie from the book but I assure is not necessary because the book gives you everything.

Anconcito celebrates its anniversary on December 18, because authorities from the illustrious municipality of Salinas couldn't attend all threes celebrations at the same time.
Since then Anconcito is considered as one the main fishing harbors of Ecuador.

Attractions for the group
The city of Anconcito is located in the south-east of Salinas’s canton in the province of Santa Elena, to 700km from Guayaquil. It's a coastal city whose inhabitants are engaged to fishing.
The port is the most important attraction and the main working medium. There is a viewpoint from where you can see the sea, the lighthouses of Salinas and Anconcito, and the city of Ancon. Everything you can see from there creates a beautiful and unimaginable sight, together with the pier which sets a perfect contrast to the city.

The typical plate of Anconcito is the "pangora". You can taste it in a delicious ceviche, a cream of pangora or a “Pangora a la termidor”.

The breeze of the sea is cozy, in the afternoon the calm of that relaxing place invites you to wander.

People from Anconcito are really friendly, kind and helpful. Visiting this beautiful city is like taking a step back in time thus, if you want peace and chill out from hustle and bustle, go to Anconcito.

A magazine article

What really annoys me most about relationships is how they change with the time. People find that “someone special”. However, although you find your better half you will have problems and you will consider it has “changed”. Here I mention three of the worst annoying things about relationships.
In the first group we find the most common cause of break up, Jealousy. People want to be the only person in the life of their couple, but it becomes into a disease. I don’t know why a person has to be so intense with his or her couple. It is just a direct way to make the other person gets tired.
Next are those who forget to be themselves after a while. If a person likes you for being crazy, why are you going to become a lifeless person? This person will take less interest about you whether he or she realizes you are not who you used to be.
Finally we find the group of people who stop being romantic. Romanticism gets lost when you forget to appreciate your partner and stop telling him or her how important is in your life.

I would like to end with a message to all couples: If you love someone don’t let get lost the love.

A short story

“Surprise Surprise"

I’d been driving for an hour before I noticed the sound of breathing coming from the backs seat. I was really scared but I remembered I had a pepper spray in my purse.
I had gone to work as everyday. In the afternoon when I finished working I went to the parking lot to take my car and come back home. I pulled over in a market because I needed some onions for dinner. I was there for an hour or so because there was an endless queue. When I paid for it I got back to my car and drove home.
I had been driving around an hour when a car passed next to me turning on and turning off lights. It was as if the driver was trying to tell me something. But I didn’t heed the warning and kept driving. After a couple of minutes, I felt a light breeze on my neck. I was scared to look in the mirror so, I speeded up. I though it was a robber. So I planned how to escape so I decided to stop, take my purse and run away.

When I got out from the car I turned to see. I took my pepper spray and got ready to attack this robber. But he named me, in that moment I realized this was not a robber, this person was my boyfriend. He had gotten into the car while I was in the market, because I had forgotten to close the door, and he wanted to give me a “surprise”.
